[perpendicular as label on folded document] Affidavit of J Marshall Jr Fy-12

I have resided for the last ten years adjoining the Estate of the late Turner Dixon, during this period the widow of the said Turner and such of his children as are infants at this time have been absent from the said Estate and under the protection of their uncle Thos.Turner of this county. I have had little or no acquuaintance with those members of the family, but with all the children of the said Turner who are now of age. I am personally acquainted and am decidedly of opinion that a division of the dower estate of Mrs. Dixon would be greatly to their interest. I have always heard, and without contradition, that the said widow (Mrs. Maria Dixon) is a lunatic without a shadow of hope of her recovery. Fauq. 12th November 1832 [signed] J K Marshall Fauquier County towit Personally appeared before me a justice of the peace for the county aforesaid on the 12th November 1832 James K Marshall and made oath to the truth of the above statement. Witness my hand this 12th November 1832 [signed] J A Marshall Fy-13
