To The Honourable The General Assembly of Virginia - Your Petitioner Daniel Warner humbly represents, that he is a freeman of colour lately emancipated, that having been born and raised in Fauquier County and being now about forty years of age, he is desirous to spend the remainder of his days where he has spent so large a portion of his time; That the desire on his part is greatly increased by the following considerations, first his wife and children live in said County, as well as more of his relatives, and secondly, having for many years had lived in the town of Warrenton in the capacity of a Barber he has become well known, and feels satisfied that by industry he can earn an honest living, while he is permitted to remain, which might not be he case if he was compelled to leave the state -Your petitioner therefore most earnestly and humbly prays that your Honourable body would pass an act authorising him to remain in the State, and your petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray &c. Daniel Warner Gt-1
