In Council, Dec 24th, 1819.

The Governor submitted to the Board a copy of the Record of the trial of Jerry, a slave, the property of Mr. Frances Harris condemned by the Court of Chesterfield to suffer death for burglary - and recommended by the Court as a fit object of mercy. Whereupon it is ordered that the said slave Jerry be reprieved for twelve months, and for sale and transportation - and that he be removed from the jail of said county to the Penitentiary.
