Know all men by these presents that I David Jamison of the County of Prince William & State of Virginia have made ordained constituted and appointed and by these presents do make ordain constitute and appoint Doct. Aldridge James of the county of Fauquier & State aforesaid my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name, but to my use to ask for demand recover and receive all and every part of my interest due by the Commonwealth for a negro man (George) condemnd by the County Court of Prince William to be hanged for felony etc. - Said George valued to $450 - and upon the payment of the said four hundred & fifty dollars, for me and in my name to give acquittances and discharges for the same, and the money so by him receiv'd immediately thereupon to pay over to me or my order and further to do and execute all and every other lawful act or acts needful for the recovery of the same but to my use as aforesaid as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes as if I was personally present hereby ratifying and confirming whatsoever my said attorney shall lawfully do or cause to be done about the premises.
