Left. [Lieutenant] David Strahanne [Strahaune?] and Eight of ye Rangers under his Cmd [command] Humbly sheweth that in febr Last past was twelve Month they were Commanded to their armes and by ye ordr of Cpt Mallachy Peall mett att ye hous of ye sd Cpt Peall and there Receved orders on ye fiften day febury to Continu in armes untill further orders which hee Expected Every day from ye Right Honrs Honourable: ye Govr: and from ye time that Left: Strahann Recd his Commishon which was about ye Midele of March following: they have to ye outmost of their power don their duty to this day: and having but three of ye six men orderd from Rapahanok [Rappahannock]: by ye Right Honourable ye Govrs: Advice and order Listed three in Staford [Stafford] to make out our number twelve, which three was Listed about the Midill July soe yt [that] wee Humbly Conceve that ye nine Monthes pay Raised by the Asembly became due to ye first Eight ye fiftenth day of November Last past, ye other three wee Leave to yor Honrs: Consideration Hoping yor Honrs will Considr our duty was the harder and that our Ranges being bad and [stony?] are forst to be att ye Charge of shewing, neither is itt possible that one hors can performe ye sarvis: soe hope the Honorll Asembly will Consider us in our pay, and wee as in duty bound shall ^ be Redy to sarve and Pray: for health & prossperity to yor Honours:
