On the 14th day of Aro; 1834, Turner a negro slave, the property of Benjamin Gatewood of Caroline, was tried for felony before the Hustings of the City of Richmond, and sentenced to be hanged on the 23d day of May 1834, and the court valued the said slave Turner at five hundred dollars.
