February the 4. 1694 The following markes were by Order of the Justices. Recorded. viz. Thomas Smiths marke A Crop and two slitts in the right eare And a Cropp two slitts and underkeil in the left. Thomas Chapells half a Crop and underkeil in the right ear And half a Crop in the underside of the left. James Jones The right eare whole, in ye left a Crop a hole & underkeile John Herbert The Right eare close cutt the left eare whole John Williams each eare a smooth Cropp and slitt under each Gyles Powell A Crop and hole in each eare.

Colman &c Deed to Hobson

To all persons whom it may concern Know yee that we Robert Coleman Robert Tucker and Elizabeth my wife of Charles Citty County for and in behalf of our selves our heyrs Exes. and admrs. for a valuable consideracon in hand recd doe give grant bargain and sell and by thes pnts have given granted bargaind and sold unto ffrancis Hobson of the county afforsd. him his hyrs Exrs admrs & Ass [Assigns] our right title and interest in and unto one hundred acres of land scittuate lieing and being on the South side of Apamatock river in ye county afforsd & lyeth att or near the Western branch of Baylys Run. the sd tract or dedivind of land being a part or parcell of a greater quantity of land taken up by Robt. Coleman junr of the sd County decd as by Patent may more plainly appear & now rattifyed unto the sd Francis Hobson and Grace his wife by Robert Coleman Robt/ Tucker and Elizabeth my wife and is that part or parcell of land adjoyning unto the line of Georg Downing att or adjoyning unto Bailys Run afforsd. thence along the sd Downings line untill you come unto the line of Robt Coleman Senr. decd thens along the sd Colemans line until you come to the full bredth of one hundred acres of land. To have and to hold to use occupy possess & enjoy the sd tract of one hundred acres of land with all rights priviledges & imunities thereunto belonging in as full and ample maner to all intents & purposses as by Patent for the sd Land specifyed or as is usuall in such cases unto him the sd Francis Hobson his heyres and Ass forever from us or any
