Know all men by these presents that I Sarah Crab widow of the parish of Waynoke Com Charles Citty doe acknowledg my Self to [ow?] and Stand Justly indebted unto Benjamin Evans in ye just sum of twenty fore thousand pounds of good sound legall Tobacco and for ye true and Sure payment therof I bind my self my heirs Exes:or Adms: firmly by these pnts: as witness my hand and Seal this first of March An. D 1694/5

Wheras the above bound Sarah Crab hath sould a tract of Land to ye above named Benjamin Evans as by a deed of sale beareing date with thes pnts: more perticular. may appear now ye codicon of this present obligation is such that if ye Sd Sarah Crabb her heires Ext:or Adms: shall from time to time and all times here after well and truly observe mayntaine perform and keep all and Singular ye articles Covenants and agreements mentioned expressed and made in ye sd deed of sale. which on her or their part ought to bee secured, mayntayned performed and keept without coven or fraud; then ths present obligation to bee null and void otherwais to stand and remain in full force Strength an virtue The mark of [her mark] Sarah Crabb and Seal [seal]

This Indenture made ye forth day of March anno Domo 1694 & in the Seaventh yeare of Reigne of our Soverign Lord and Lady William and Mary over Eng & Scotland france and Ireland King & Queen &c. Between Thomas Busby and Mary his wife of Wynoke parish in Charles Citty County of the one part and Thomas Smith of Westover parish in Charles Citty County afforsd of the other part Wittnesseth that the afforsd Thomas Busby and Mary his wife for and in consideracon of two thousand pounds of tobacco to them by the Sd Thomas Smith in hand pd att or before the ensealing and delivery of thes pnts hath given granted bargaind sold enfeoffed and confirmd and doe hereby for themselves their heyrs Exrs & admrs. give grant bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto him the Sd Thomas Smith his heires and Ass for ever one tract or devidend of land scituate lying and being on the South Side of Wynoke parish in Charles Citty County afforsd conteining by esteemaco[n] one hundred acres of land more or less bounded viz. begining at the North end of Gilbert Hays line comeing thence fifty or Sixty yards still North by Markt trees to a smale branch and West the Sd branch & markt trees to the main Southern branch and upp the Sd Southern branch South to the head therof and thence still South
