[page] 34 April 19 /37 Regular semi monthly meeting of Austin R Davis Camp #4 Dpt of Va was held on the above date. Comd PJ Wilson presiding Roll Call of officers and minutes of the last regular meeting read and approved. The committee to wait on Norfolk Camp and invite them to join us in our Memorial day parade reported that they carried out the order attending the meeting as a whole and that they had excepted the invitation, chairman. FM Snyder of the sick committee made his report. Com. Banister Chairman of Monument Committee made a full report, good progress being made Com. George Wilson Chairman of Memorial parade reported everything progressing nicely but stated he had talked with Colonel Sands in regard to getting a marching unit and Colonel Sands said there was no funds to pay the men and could not comply with the request. Com Frank Anderson made a short talk on his trip. Chaplain Loder was with us again after being absent for some time on account of illness. Com. Thompson stated on his trip to Pa. he had visited a camp in Oil City which he stated was a small camp but very progressive. The Comd. urged more news paper publicity in connection with our monument Dpt. for Vir Comd Bonister was appointed mustering officer as Com. Russeno previously appointed was not present He at once conducted the Muster day service 19 were present. Receipts for the evening $5.50 No further business camp adjuourned. W H Tonkin Camp adjt
