june 6 1938 83 regular semi-monthly meeting of austin r davis camp #4 of VA was held on above date meeting was opened in regular form com'dr snyder ruling roll call of officers and minutes of last regular meeting was read and approved dept orders #5 series 1937-1938 read, letter from admiral simons stating he could not be mustered in now on account of illness also letter from dept patriotic inspector asking for patriotic activities during year discussion was general on the new bill h.r. 5030 for the benefit of members present com snyder reported death of comrade herndon of deep creek report of dick committee all comrades in some condition. com bannister reported on memorial day parade and stated it was exceptionally well carried out. also reported on trip to petersburg va on memorial day to attend unveiling of bridge memorial. motion [illegible] made and see by hardy that the camp pay the registration fee of all voters at the state convention = carried delegate to convention - R. O. Moore Jn L.
