348 ~ March Court 1755

One hundred & eighty pounds of Tobacco expended in taking her up.

Rachael Lunsford, Wife of Moses Lunsford came into Court & being first privately examined, relinquished her Right of, in, & to certain Lands conveyed by her sd. Husband to Charles Harding which is ordered to be recorded ~

Administration of the Estate of George Pilcher is granted John Nelson he having entered into Bond with James Buchanan his Security Cain Withers, William Gerrard, Gowry Waugh, & Thomas Jones Appraisers.

Ordered that William Kelly, & Phillis his Wife be summoned to appear at the next Court, to answer the Petition of William Johnson. Present John Mercer, Gent.

Ordered that the Sheriff summon twenty four of the most able Freeholders of this County to appear at May Court next to be a Grand jury for the Body of this County.

In the Suit on the Attachment obtained by John Nelson & Compy. against the Estate of William Cox the sd. John produced & made Oath to an Account against the sd. William for four pounds eighteen Shillings. It's thereupon Considered by the Court that the sd. John & Co. recover the Same of the sd. William, & their Costs by them in this behalf expended. And the Sheriff having returned the Attachment executed in the hands of Thomas Turnham & William Smith, & the sd. Smith appearing on Oath declared that he had in his hands an Ax, a Gun, & old Kersey Coat; It's thereupon ordered that the Sheriff sell the same according to Law & satisfy the above Judgment therewith, if there be Money enough arising by such sale to do the Same, & report to the next Court ~

In the Suit on the Attachment obtained by John Alexander, against the Estate of Thomas Burn, the sd. John produced & made Oath to an Account against the sd. Thomas for five pounds. it's thereupon considered by the Court that the sd. John recover the same of the sd. Thomas, & his Costs by him in this behalf expended. And the Sheriff having returned the Attachment executed on one bed, & furniture, one Chest two Tables one Bowl, one Iron Pot & Hooks, one Box Iron, one old Box, & some other Trifles, It's therefore ordered that the Sheriff sell the same according to Law, & satisfy the above Judgment therewith if there be Money enough arising by such sale to do the same & report to the next Court.

Ordered that the Church wardens of Overwharton Parish bind William Groves according to Law.
