{ 364. April Court, 1755.

to wit. Alexander Doniphan, John Fitzhugh, Cain Withers, John Short, James Berry, William Johnson, John Waller, William Matheny, John Mason [,] Husbandfoote Whitecotton, Robert Mannon, & John Kirk were Sworn to try the Issue joined who brought in there [their] Verdict in these Words. "We of the Jury find for the Plt. two thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco according to act of Assembly John Short foreman" which Verdict at the Plt's Motion is admitted to Record, & it's considered by the Court that the Plt. (who as well for our sovereign Lord the King for the use of the Church wardens aforsd. as for himself prosecutes), recover of the sd. deft. the sd. two thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco by the Jurors aforsd. in their Verdict aforsd. assessed, & their Costs by them in this behalf expended ~

In the Action of Trespass Assault & Battery between John Canady Plt. & Daniel Chambers deft. a Jury to wit. William Northcut, William Allen, John Payton William Bussell, James Oneal junr. John Toby, Spencer Bashaw, Murda McCoy Samuel Mitchell, Richard Randall, William Mills, & Jacob Johnson were sworn to try the Issue joined who brought in their Verdict in these Words - "We of the Jury find for the deft. William Northcut foreman" which Verdict at the deft's. Motion is admitted to record, & it's considered by the Court that the Plt. take nothing by his Bill, that the deft. go hence without day & that he recover of the sd. Plt. his Costs by him, about his defence in this behalf expended.

Ordered that John Canaday pay William Burton three hundred pounds of Tobacco for twelve days attendance as an Evidence for him against Chambers.

Ordered that Daniel Chambers pay Catharine Jefferice one hundred pounds of Tobacco for four days attendance as an Evidence for him at suit of Canady ~

Ordered that Darby OCain pay Thomas Crafford four hundred seventy five pounds of Tobacco for nineteen days attendance as an Evidence for him against Broox

Ordered that Darby OCain pay Henry Studdart four hundred & twenty five pounds of Tobo. for seventeen days attend[ance] as an Evidence for him against Broox

Ordered that Darby O'Cain pay Richard Ocain two hundred & seventy five pounds of Tobacco for eleven days attendance as an Evidence for him against Clark.

In the Suit on Petition between Gustavus Brown Esqr. Plt. & Jacob Johnson deft. Judgment is granted the Plt. against him for four pounds nineteen Shillings with Costs, & a Lawyer's Fee.

Ordered that Gustavus Brown Esqr. pay John Short one hundred pounds of Tobacco for four days attendance as an Evidence for him against Johnson.
