United States of America Circuit Court of the United States} Massachusetts District ss} Be it remembered, That on the fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four Personally appeared before me, Clerk of the said Court, Thomas Kane of Boston in said District, Laborer, an alien, and free white person and by his Declaration in writing, on oath, sets forth, that he was born in the county Kerry Ireland on or about the ___ day of February in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty one and is now about twenty three years of age; that he arrived at Boston in the District of Massachusetts in the United States of America, on or about the second day of August in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty one that it then was, and still is, his bona fide intention to become a citizen of the United States of America, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, State, Potentate, and Sovereignty whatsoever- more especially to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, whose subject he has heretofore been. He therefore prayed, that his said Declaration and Intention might become a record of said Court, agreeably to the laws in such case made and provided. Whereupon the Declaration of the said Thomas Kane is admitted to become a record of said Court accordingly. IN testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed the seal of said Court, as Boston this fifth day of December A.D. 1854, and in the seventy eighth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
