This Indenture, made this 17th day of November in the year of our Lord 1847 between Willis Bradshaw and Jesse L. Bailey overseers of the poor of Southampton county, of the one part, and Nancy Kitchen of said county, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Willis Bradshaw and Jesse L. Bailey overseers of the poor as aforesaid, by virtue of an order of the court of Southampton, bearing date the 15th October in the year 1847, have put placed and bound, and by these presents do put place and bind Dick Warren (fn) of the age of nine years, to be an apprentice with her the said Nancy Kitchen to dwell from the date of these presents until the said Dick Warren shall come to the age of twenty one years. By and during all which time and term the said Dick Warren shall, the said Nancy Kitchen his said mistress well and faithfully serve, in all such lawful business as the said Dick Warren shall be put unto by his said mistress according to the power wit and ability of him the said Dick Warren, and honestly and obediently, in all things shall behave himself toward his said mistress.
