Augusta Country Clerks' Office, to wit:

Charlotte Viny (daughter of Sally Viny) a very bright yellow complexion, fourteen years of age the 27th day of February 1823, and was born free, as appears from a certificate of the clerk of Madison County Court, dated on the 1st day of December 1812. Given under my hand with the seal of the Court affixed the 28th day of October 1823.

Augusta County Court Clerks' Office to wit:

Anderson Spears, a freeman of Colour, now about Twenty Seven years of age, five feet seven inches 1/8 high, of light complexion, a scar on the end of the forefinger of the hand, and a scar on the left leg, as appears by certificate of registry of Albemarle County Court, dated the 6th day of August 1822. Given under my hand with the seal of the Court the 28th day October 1823.

John Cox, a free man of colour. Bright Mulatto Complexion about fifty four years of age, about 5 feet, Eleven inches high, with the fore finger of the right hand off, and a wen on the left breast.
