At the Court at St. James's the 24th of March 1710 Present The Queen's most Excellent Majesty in Councill Upon Reading this Day at the Board a Representation from the Right Honble the Lord Commissioners of Trade and Plantations upon a Clause in Her Mat's Instructions to her present Governor of Virginia Directing a method whereby the taking up and Patenting of lands within that Colony is made conformable to the Laws and Customs thereof; which Clause is as followeth, Whereas it has been Represented to us by the President and Councill of our said Colony, that the method of granting of Land, as Directed by our Instructions to Robert Hunter Esqr bearing Date at our Court at St. James's the 30 of April 1707, is not agreeable to the Laws, Constitution and Practice of our said Colony; our will and pleasure therefore is, that for the future the method of granting of Lands be in such form and manner, and under the like Conditions, Covenants and Reservations of Quit Rent as are by
