C&O LINES THE CHESAPEAKE AND OHIO RAILWAY COMPANY THE CHESAPEAKE AND OHIO RAILWAY COMPANY OF INDIANA RICHMOND, VA. January 12th, 1916- GEO. W. STEVENS PRESIDENT

Personal. Mrs. Mary C. Munford, Chairman, Central Committee, Coordinate College League, 503 East Grace Street, Richmond, Va.

Dear Mrs. Munford - Referring to your letter of January 8th - On account of various bills introduced in the Legislature which will very materially affect the Railway, if passed, I think it unwise for me to give you a letter to be used publicly giving my views in connection with the Coordinate College which you are very anxious to have established at Charlottesville, Va.

However, I will take pleasure in seeing my friends personally and ask them to give your bill their hearty support. I have also discussed the matter with Mr. Scherer, and I believe he saw you yesterday. I trust you will treat this letter confidential, although I of course have no objection to your mentioning to anyone you may talk to that I am in favor of the Coordinate College. Very truly yours, Geo. W. Stevens
