[CERTIFICATE FOR FELONY NOT BAILED] City of Richmond to wit: I, James K Caskie, Recorder of the said City, do hereby certify that I have this day committed William a slave the property of Ro. P. Richardson to the jail of the said City, that he may be tried by the Hustings Court of the said City for a felony by him committed, in this, that on the 11th day of December in the year 1861, at the City of Richmond, and within the jurisdiction of the Hustings Court, of the said City, he did feloniously take, steal and carry away one roll of carpeting and two Carpet Rugs of the value of thirty dollars of the goods and chattels of B. W. Richardson and Robert P. Richardson partners under the firm of Richardson & Co. Given under my hand, this 12th December, in the year 1861. James K Caskie Recorder
