Know all men by these presents, that I James Ball of the County of Lancaster, for & in consideration of the natural Love and affection which I have for my Grandson Thomas Glascock, have given granted transferd conveyd and confirmd and by these presents do give grant transfer convey & confirm unto the said Thomas Galscock, the following Negroe Slaves to wit, Joseph, Tab & her children Bess & Judy, Sarah and her child Winny, and Bass the son of Alice, To have and to hold the said negroe Slaves Joseph, Tab, Bess & Judy Sarah, Winny & Bass, and the future increase of the Females unto the said Thomas Glascock, his Heirs Exrs. Admrs. and Assigns for ever, & to no other use intent or purpose whatsoever, they being one moiety or thereabouts of the slaves & Increase which I formerly purchased of his Father Mr. Thomas Glascock dec'd, according to a division made of the whole between him & his sister Mary, the Wife of Mr. Leroy Edwards, which division I do hereby agree to & confirm, and I do hereby warrant & defend the said Negroe Slaves, & the future increase of the Females unto the said Thomas Glascock his Heirs Exrs Admrs & Assigns forever against the lawful claim & demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & Seal this fifteenth day of January one Thousand seven hundred & eighty five.
