The Commonwealth of Virginia, To the Sheriff of Accomack County, Greeting: We command you as we have heretofore commanded you, that you summon George Downing, (f.n.) emancipated since the 1st of May 1806 to appear before the Justices of our County Court for the said County, on the first day of the next term, to shew cause why an information should not be filed against him, upon a Presentment of the Grand Jury, made against him in the said Court, for remaining in the Commonwealth of Virginia against the Acts of Assembly, made and provided in such cases. and have here and there this writ.Witness Jno: W Gillet Clerk of our said County Court, at his office on the 1st day of 1850, and in the 74th year of the Commonwealth.
