[CERTIFICATE FOR FELONY NOT BAILED.] CITY OF RICHMOND, To Wit: To the Clerk of the Hustings Court of said City: I, James K. Caskie Recorder of the said City, do hereby certify that I have this day committed Ben, a slave the property of John H. Gentry to the jail of the said City, that he may be tried by the Hustings Court of the said City for a felony by him committed, in this, that on the 15th day of July in the year 1863, at the City of Richmond, and within the jurisdiction of the Hustings Court of the said City, he did feloniously take steal and carry away two trunks of the value of twenty dollars each, one jewelry box of the value of five dollars, one gold bracelet of the value of fifty dollars, three gold finger rings of the value of ten dollars each, two pair of ear rings of the value of ten dollars, one breast pin of the of the value of five dollars, one gold watch chain of the value of one hundred dollars, one gold cross of the value of ten dollars, one silk dress of the value of one hundred dollars, & one large pin cushion of the value of twenty dollars of the goods and chattels of Edward Lunsford.
