To James M. Payne executor of Thomas Brooks dec'd and Mishack Hicks Adm'r of Fielding Brooks dec'd You will take notice that I shall on Friday the 14th day of this month (Feby) at Watkinsville in the county of Goochland between hours of 10 oclock in the morning and six oclock in the evening of that day proceed to take the depositions of Carr Fleming A. V. Payne & others to be read as evidence in my suit against you now depending on the Chancery side of the Circuit Superior Court of Law & Chancery for Goochland County in which I am plaintiff & you are defendant & if from any cause the depositions should not be taken & closed on that day the taking of them will be continued from day to day between the hours aforesaid until closed. Yours Lewy a coloured man & a pauper by James Lyons his counsel Goochland 10th Feby 1845
