To the Honorable the Speaker and Gentlemen of the House of burgesses The petition of Manoah Singleton Humbly sheweth That he was summoned as a venire man on the trial of John Booth a criminal sent from the county of Orange and attended the honble the general court in obedience to the said summons one day, and travelled from the said county of Orange at a distance of one hundred and thirty five miles from the capitol, in the year 1770, but by some mistake no allowance hath yet been made him for his said attendance and traveling. Your petitioner therefore prays he may have the allowance appointed by law for the said service with his levirages And your petitioner shall pray etc. 135 miles 405 60- 1 day’s allce. 12- levges 477 [bottom left corner] 465 60 525
