Cutler and Bennet Barrett Overseers of the Poor as aforesaid by virtue of an order of the court of the aforesaid County, bearing date "September Court 1840", have put placed and bound, and by these presents do put place and bind Benjamin Turner aged ten years on the tenth day of the present month (September) and James Turner aged seven years on the thirtieth day of march last, both children of Hetty Turner free negro. also George Boon aged one or two years son of Betsy Boon free negro, to be apprentices with him the said George Whitfield, and as apprentices with him the said George Whitfield to dwell from the date
