This Indenture made this 8th day of February one Thousand eight hunred & thirty eight between Edward Wal- ton & John [Ganoff?] overseers of the Poor for district No. one in the county of Cumberland of the one part & Saml [Windsor?] of the said county of the other part [Witnepeth.?] That the said Edward Walton & John Garnatt, overseers of the poor aforesaid, by Virtue of an order of the courts of the County a- foresaid, hearing date February 1837, have [just?] & [illegible], one by these presents do place & bind John Jenkins a poor boy of color son of Jenny Jenkins a woman of color of the age of five years the 12th day of January 1838, born 12th January 1833 to be an apprentice with him the said Saml.Windsor, to dwell from the date of these [presents?], in which the said John Jenkins shall come to the age of twenty one years, according to the act of the Gen'l Assembly in that case made and reca- lled. By and during all which Time the said John Jenkins shall the said Saml.
