This Indenture, made the 22 day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty one between [Mary?] Russell one of the Overseers of the Poor of Frederick County, of the one part, and Sammuel R. Atwell of the same County [illegible], of the other part: Witnesseth, That the said Overseer, in the consequence of the powers in him vested, and pursuant to an order of the Court witnesseth aforesaid, dated 2sd Day march 1861, hath put, placed and bound, and by these presents doth put, place and bind Henry Bill [illegible] unto the said Samuel R Atwell with him to dwell, and serve after the manner of an apprentice, until he shall arrive at and attain the full age of twenty one years, (the said Henry Bil lbeing three years old the 2sd day of March) during all which time the said apprentice the said S R Atewell well and faithfully shall serve, his secrets keep, and all lawful commands at all times readily obey; hurt to the said Samuel R Atwell shall not do, nor willingly suffer the same to be done by others, but henceforth shall notify him thereof; the goods of the said Samuel R Atwell shall not waste or embezzle, nor lend them without
