Augusta County Court clerks office to wit; Registered in this office, Henry Black a free man of colour; about thirty years of age fie feet Eight inches high, dark brown complexion has a long scar on the right wrist was born free and formerly bound a an apprentice to Jacob Hershbarger by the overseers of the poor for Augusta county to learn the trade of a Black Smith. Given under my hand with the seal of the court affixed the 15th day of September 1823
