City of Richmond Sct Thomas Gilliat of the City of Richmond appeared before me and made oath [thae?] he verily believes that David Snow of Boston a Master of Schooner Freindship has enveigled and decoyed out of his possession a Slave named Claiborne with an Intention to assist the said Claiborne to depart out of this Commonwealth, so that the said Gilliat may lose him altogether - that he knows not at this time where the said Slave is - and he considers the value of the Slave and the Damages which he has sustained and is likely to sustain by the conduct of the said Snow in the premises to be fully equal of the sum of One Thousand Dollars - Given under my hand this Tenth day of December Eighteen hundred and four Henry S Shore Aldern
