It is agreed and bargained between James Fewell and George W. Macrae that sd. Macrae shall have & hire from sd. Fewell negro woman Clary and child for this present year 1831; that sd. Macrae to pay Eight dollars to sd. Fewell (five dollars down, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the balance once at the expiration of this year) and to furnish her and child the customary clothing, for such hirelings, & then board. But if, and so long as sd. Clary & child remain at sd. Fewells Blacksmith's shop, sd. Fewell is to furnish the board of sd Clary & child in consideration of her washing and cooking for his blacksmith & striker. In Witness whereof the parties aforesaid have affirmed & do herto sett there hands & seals this 13th day of January 1831
