To all to whome these presents shall Come I Richard Bennett Esq Governour and Capt Generall of Virginia send greeting in our Lord God everlasting where as by the Articles dated at James Citty the twelfth of March one thousand six hundred fifty & one Concluded and Signed by the Commssrs appointed by Authority of parliamt for the reducing settling & governing of Virginia it was prvided that the priviledg of fifty acres of land for every prson transpoorted into this Collony should be continued as formerly granted and whereas by act of A Grand assembly made the twenty first of Aprill one thousand six hundred fifty and two it was provided that all pattents shall hereafter be signed under ye Governrs hand wth the Secretaries & shal be accompted authentique & vallid in law untill a Collony Seale shalbe prvided & appointed

Now knowe ye that the syd Richard Bennett Esq doe in the name of ye keepr of ye Libertie of England by Authority of Parliamt wth the Consent of the Councell of State give and grant unto Henry Palin and Jno Swingleton thre hundred Acres of Land Lying on the Eastward side of a Runne wch falles into ye head of Ware River in Mockrack Baye begining at a marked tree of Jno. Walkers land and runing by the syd mrk tres to ye syd run West three hundred and twenty pole up the run nor'ly. one hundred and fifty pole by mrk tres East thre hundred & twenty pole Sou'ly one hundred and fifty pole to ye [illegible - page torn] [land?] being due to ye syd Henry Palin and Jno Swingleton by and for the transportation of six [page torn] prsons into ye Collony all whose names are in record [mentioned?] under the pattent to have and to hold the syd Land with its due share of all mines and Mineralls therin Contained wth all rights & priviledges of hunting hawking fishing fowling wth all woods waters and rivers wth all proffitts Commodities & hereditaments whatsoever
