My dear Mrs. Munford: Your letter to hand this morning, Mrs. Ellis is preparing to send in all her endorsements & some money tomorrow.  My clubs have disappointed me very much, several of them have written that they fear the appropriation will hurt the Rural schools &c. &c.  It is very hard to help women in line & with clear motives in their heads.  But the Alexandria Club wrote me they had voted $5.00.  Will try to see that it is forwarded.  And I thought Lynchburg would contribute liberally
