I have not yet heard from my urgent letter to Mr. Stemp. I am mailing today, letters to each of the four Senate members, similar to the one I am enclosing - this being a rough draft. Letters of that same character will go to the Republican members of the Legislature this aft, or Mon. morning. I want to write a special letter to Mr. John Crockett of Wythe, an influential Democrat, Oberon his daughter, and sisters [well?] and know him slightly. Mrs. Richardson, Chairman school Com. of the Civic Club promised yesterday to go to work on the petition for Mr. Brown. I understand that the Bill comes before the Senate Tuesday, so these letters should get there in time [illegible] before the house about a week later. Hoping I have been able to help a little I am [illegible] yours M. M. Caldwell
