This Indenture MADE THE 1st day of April in the year of our Lord 1844 Between Peter Hinton on of the Overseer's of the Poor of the [blank] District in the County of Rockingham of the one part, and David Harrison of the other part witnesseth, that the said Overseers of the Poor by virtue of an Order of the County date March Court in the year 1844 has placed and bound and by these presents doth place and bind Mary Hackley a free Girl of Color of the age of 10 years on Ten June 1842 to be an Apprentice with him the said David Harrison and as an Apprentice with him the said David Harrison to dwell from the date of these presents, until the said Mary Hackley shall arrive, and come to the age of Eighteen years, according to the Act of the General Assembly in that case made and provided.  For and during all which time and term the said Mary Hackley shall the said David Harrison well and faithfully serve in all such lawful business as the said David Harrison shall be put unto by her said Master according to the Power, Wit and Ability of the said Mary Hackley and the said Mary Hackley honestly  and obediently in all things behave towards the said David Harrison and honestly and orderly towards the rest of the Family of him the said David Harrison
