Alexandria, Va. My dear Mrs. Munford, I was about to send the enclosed to Senator Thornton when I received your card. I tried to get several of the different Orders in town to endorse the movement but they said since it was a political movement they couldn't pass on it. I am sorry to say that indifferent ignorance is the order of the day concerning the movement here. I understand that Thornton needs more pressure than Birrell.
