[letterhead of Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic. Wheeling, West VA.] M. Anna Hall, Past National President

Dec 18 1909 Miss Elizabeth J. Hauser 505 Fifth Ave New York

My Dear Miss Hauser

Your good letter of Nov 30th received and in reply would say I have made inquiries and find we have no American Press Association in Wheeling. Cleveland O. is the nearest place that any Press Association has an office our papers here are very kind and have access to all of them. I am sure you will think it funny we have a town called Triadelphia where women can vote just a few miles for our city and they won't vote, and here in Wheeling we are strugling for it and I was wondering if you could think or devise any method so that we could persuade them to vote. A friend and I went out and made a canvas of the town trying to organize a club. It would take dynamite to move them. Please excuse this paper as I have been laid up for a week with a cold and this is all I have on hand. I am hastily and Sincerely Yours
