It is true that no Southern State has yet adopted woman suffrage; but the cause has grown very much stronger in this section. It is hoped through the convention to be held in New Orleans in November, and the proposed conference with the Southern Governors, to reach some plan or agreement, whereby the friends of equal suffrage can carry on their campaign in the South with a fair chance of winning the privileges they seek from the States and not be driven into a national campaign from wresting the privilege from Congress in the form of a constitutional amendment.
