                                                              DAY LETTER
                                                    THEO N. VAIL, PRESIDENT

SEND the following Day Letter, subject to the terms on back hereof, which are hereby agreed to

Hague, Va. Jan. 24th

Miss Adele Clark.

Regret cannot come. Wish you success. There is no sound argument against woman suffrage, and Virginia should not be behind in a movement endorsed by the best thought of the civilized world. I fail to see the danger of the Federal Amendment. The women of our day can be trusted to elevate the balance above the danger of negro dominancy.
