Pan American Assembly in Balto. A delegate arriving from Chile, Miss Garciella Mandeyana who has come to America as the official representative of Chili at the Pan American Conference of Women in Balto, & Senorita Louisa Fanelli correspondent for both Chilian newspapers, were met on arrival here by a delegation from Norfolk branch of National League of Women Voters giving a cordial welcome in the name of the women of America & following a sight seeing trip through the city & luncheon at Chamber of Commerce were escorted to Washington steamer to continue their trip. When the steamship arrived a tug was provided by the courtesy of Mr. N. M. Osborne to take the committee out to the ship. Mrs Frank E. Killam, Mrs John W. Inglesby, Mrs U. M. Osborne Mrs Pauline Adams, Mrs. Ralph F. Holland, Mrs Jesse E. Townsend, Mrs Lewis C. Matthews Mrs J. [G.?] Hardison Mrs [G?] F. Fulford, Mrs Francis Ells, & Mrs Katherine [Couper?] & Miss Nina Rhodes of Va [illegible] were the committee. We had luncheon at the Chamber of Commerce, heard them make interesting speeches about the work in their countries & escorted them to the [wash?] boat. Later we received the acquaintance in Balto. & Wash. Mrs Mathews, Mrs Fain, Mrs Townsend. About 1000 of the women at this convention left for Wash. where they will be entertained for two days. A special feature will be afternoon reception to Lady Astor given by Senator Swanson in his office room.
