Northern Italy 14 May 1945 Mr. George Marvin Kelly, Parksley, Virginia. Dear Mr. Kelly: Your letter of 17th April 1945, addressed to Commanding Officer, Company "F", has been refered to me for appropriate action. I am able to give you teh following information. Your son, Pvt. Keith M. Kelly, was instantly killed in Northern Italy on 4th October 1944 when hit by fragments of an enemy artillery shell which landed near him. His body was taken to an American Military Cemetery in Northern Italy, where he received burial rites of the Protestant Church.
