I, James K Caskie Recorder of the said City do hereby certify that I have this day committed William a slave the property of Ro. P. Richardson to the jail of the said City that he may be tried by the Hustings Court of the said City for a felony by him committed in this that on the 11th day of December in the year 1861 at the City of Richmond and within the jurisdiction of the Hustings Court of the said City he did feloniously take, steal and carry away one roll of carpeting and two Carpet Rugs of the value of thirty dollars of the goods and chattels of B. W. Richardson and Robert P. Richardson partners under the firm of Richardson & Co
