We are nearly surrounded by mountains, there is a high one just in front of Hal's windows. There is no Presbyterian Church either in W. & S. but Mr. H's. But in Woodstock, beside his church, there is a Methodist, German Reformed, & Lutheran Church. Hal & I were at the Methodist Church yesterday, as Mr. H was in Strasburg. We have a Sabbath School connected with our church, & H & I have commenced teaching. Wednesday night we have a prayer meeting. The people are kind and affectionate to us, though the manners up here generally speaking, are not like those of Eastern Va. Forgive me if I have wearied you with my detailed account, but I do believe you all love us, and want to hear how we are getting along. This is my apology.
