THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, To Gentlemen Justices of the county of Campbell and State of Virginia Greeting: KNOW YE, that we, trusting to your fidelity and provident circumspection, in diligently examining Edmund N Rosser - a Witness, as well on behalf of John Rosser - Plaintiff, as German Jordan Defendant, in a suit now depending in the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery, holden for the county of Campbell, command you, or any one or more of you, that at such certain day and place as you shall appoint, you assemble yourselves and the witness aforesaid before you, you call and cause to come, and diligently examine him on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, and their examinations into our said Court, distinctly and plainly, without delay, you send and certify enclosed. And have then there this writ. Witness, JOHN D. ALEXANDER, Clerk of our said Court, this 2nd day of November 1843, in the 68th year of the Commonwealth.
