Suffrage Champion Coming Wednesday Miss Mabel Vernon Miss Mabel Vernon, who is touring New England as a part of the final country-wide campaign for the national suffrage amendment, will speak at the Jefferson auditorium next Wednesday. Miss Vernon graduated from Swarthmore. She began her speaking tours for suffrage in the Delaware campaign of 1913. She worked with Anne Martin in the campaign which won suffrage for the women in Nevada, and to[o]k up a residence in that state, in order that she might share in the fruits of the victory. From that time on she has devoted herself completely to work for the suffrage amendment. Miss Vernon has become well known to the politicians of the country, through representing the woman's party at various conventions. She was the only woman invited to speak at the conference of the Non-Partisan League in St. Paul last year. Miss Vernon will appear with Dr. H. W. Wiley, national food expert. The hour for the meeting is 8:15 P.M.
