This indenture made this 22nd day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty two between horatio r marryman of the the town of Alexandria district of Columbia of the one part and Christopher neale of the same Town and District of the other part. Whereas the aforesaid Horatio R. Marryman is justly indebted to Thomas King, Merchant Taylor of the town of Alexandria in the sum of eighty one dollars & sixty-seven cents which at present he is liable to pay but which he the said marryman is desirous to secure the payment of the same, to the said Thomas King, his Ecers: admors: or assigns.

Marryman  as well for the purpose before expressed, as in consideration of one dollar to him paid by the said Chr: Neale of which the receipt is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained and sold, aliened and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell, alien and confirm, to the said Chr: Neale, a certain negro girls, named Maria, now about eight years old, of black complexion, & a Slave for life.
