Know all men by these presents that J. Stephen Stephens of the Town of Alexandria & State of Virginia for divers considerations & more Especially for the sum of Two thousand dollars to me in hand paid the Recp't. whereof I hereby acknowledge hath and do by these present bargain sell & convey unto Lewis Summers of sd. Town of Alexandria & State of Virginia the following property to witt  A Coachee, a pair Bay horses, a one horse chaise, a negro woman called Letty, a negro girl called Harriott, a negro Boy called Jacob, a lease from Wm. Ervin for a house & Lott in St Asaph Street a gold watch, one Iron chest all & singular of which property I have sold & delivered to said Summers & do hereby obligate my self my heirs Executor administrators to warrant & forever defend to him the said Lewis Summers his heirs Executors administrators or Assigns agt. the Claim of me my heirs or any Other person or persons whatsoever  As Witness My hand & Seal this 15th day of November 1799.  Stephen Stephens {seal}  Witness Wm.
