This Indenture made this first day of July one thousand eight hundred and twelve, Between Alexander Moore of the town and county of Alexandria in the district of Columbia of the one part and Thomas Moore of the same place of the other part. Whereas the said Alexander Moore and Ann his wife in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and seventy dollars, here by Indenture bearing date the thirtieth  day of October one thousand eight hundred and eleven conveyed to a certain John E Powell, a tract of land in Fairfax County containing forty three and an half, acres or thereabouts, being a part of that part of the West Grove estate which upon a division against the children of Roger West deceased, was allotted to the said Ann Moore, one of the children of the said Roger West: And Whereas the said Ann Moore being now under the age of twenty one years; and unable to make a full and effectual transfer of her right in law, in and to the said land; Cleon Moore, John D Simms, John Hopkins and James C West have at the special instance and request of the said Alexander Moore, executed jointly with him; a bond to the said John C Powell; bearing date the thirteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred and eleven; conditioned for a further and full per simple conveyance of the said tract of land, within forty two months from the date of the conveyance above mentioned, to which bond reference is here made _ for this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Alexander Moore, as well for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Moore at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof he the said Alexander Moore doth hereby acknowledge, as to indefinitely serve and save [illegible?] the said Cleon Moore, John D Simms, John Hopkins and James C Mist, and each of them, their and each of their heirs, Executors and administrators, against all loss and damage which they or either of their, their or either of their heirs, Executors or Administrators may sustain in [each?] the condition of the said bond or administrators may sustain in [case?] the condition of the said bond be not fully complied with as therein expressed __ Hath Granted, bargained and sold,and by these presents doth grant bargain, and sell into the said Thomas Moore the following slaves to unit; Lewis, and Betsy with her future increase, and either personal estate Goods, chattels, household and kitchen furniture, and per schedule hereto anneced; To Have and to hold the same unto him, the
