October 17, 1918. Hon. George M. Warren, Bristo, Va.-Tenn. Dear Mr. Warren:- I have your letter in regard to Dr. Rogers, Dr. Cosby and Dr. Teeter, for which accept my thanks. I was pained beyond expresion to receive a telegram telling me of the death of my good friend Caldwell. I can scarely realise that one so full of life, ability, and helpfulness has left us: I shall miss him very much. With kind regards and hoping to see you soon, I remain, Sincerely yours, [illegible] Governor.
