October 11, 1918. Hon. George Warren, Bristol, Va. Dear Mr. Warren:- I beg to hand you a letter addressed to me by Dr. Wm. R. Rogers, which explains itself. I will be glad if you will give me, in confidence, some names for appointment to the Medical Advisory Board in the place of Dr. Frank Smith, and also your idea of the propriety of promoting Dr. Rogers to the chairman-ship of the Medical Advisory Board. It is my desire to secure a man of the highest type for appointments to fill these war time positions. With kind regards, I remain, Yours very truly, [illegible] Governor.
