Know are Men by there presents that J. Joseph B. Ball of the County of Fauquier. I do hereby constitute and appoint John Kemper of the County of Fauq. My lawful attorney for me and in my name to receive the sum of four Hundred and fifty dollars adjudged to me by a Court of Oyer and Terminer for the County of Fauq. which was summons for the Trial of Negro man named James on the 1st of May 1815 the property of the said Joseph B. Ball and which said slave was condemned by the said Court and valued to the aforesaid sum of Four Hundred and fifty dollars - And whom this payment of this said sum of Money or any parts thereof for me and in my name to give acquittance for the same and further to do and execute all and every other lawful acts for veining and obtaining of the same or any part thereof as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes or if I were personally present.
