EXTRA!! EXTRA!! POLYGON CLUB DEFEATS LIONS CLUB An estimated crowd of approximately 5,000 loyal Baseball Fans (300 pais admissions) saw those terrific clouting, sure-fielding Polygon Baseball Night Hawks defeat those ferocious Lions by the score of 6 to 1. The dazzling pitching by Eddie Cross was too much for the Lionmen. The sensational fielding of "One chaw of tobaccy" Friend out in Centerfield and "Long Stretch" VanDyck on firstbase robbed the Lionmen of several hits. Sturtevant and Wilkinson completed the game in a deadlock for strikeout honors--both having three strikeouts for four times at the bat. Joe Bowen and Eddie Radcliffe received honorable mention as All-American batboys. Bowen received quite a hand from the crowd when he lost his pants and had to make a hurried dash to the club-house.

EDITORIAL Various opinions and ideas were brought out at last week's meeting by Club members during the discussion of the subhect "What is a Civic Club." Most members reached the conclusion that the Polygon Club was not a Civic Club, but a civic-social organization. In the past few years of the Club's existence its members have been instrumental in accomplishing certain services have not been as outstanding as those rendered by larger civic clubs, they have been outstanding enough to warrant justification in our looking upon the Polygon Club as a progressive club - we are not members of a dormant club. Give serious thought to your efforts to render servive -- pays big dividens. Charles W. Eliot, a well-known educationalist, says "The most satisfactory thing in all this earthly life is to be able to serve our fellow beings - first, those who are bound to us by ties of love; then, the wider circle of fellow-townsmen, fellow-countrymen, or fellow-men. To be of service is a solid foundation for contentment in this world."

DID YOU KNOW THAT ---- The U.S. Government Printing Office is the largest establishment of its kind in the world. It has twenty-two acres of floor space, and employs 5,000 persons. If all the type were cast in solid form, it would cover five acres of ground. The average yearly output is two billion four hundred seventy million lines of type.
